Prize Gala 2006

The 2006 Siminovitch Prize in Theatre was awarded on October 24, 2006 to set and costume designer Dany Lyne. The presentation of a cheque and an original work of art was made to Dany Lyne and her protégés April Anne Viczko and Camellia Koo. Ms. Lyne also chose to single out emerging designer, Jung-Hye Kim, with an honourable mention. Hosted by Tony Comper, President and CEO of BMO Financial Group, and Elizabeth Comper, Chair of the Siminovitch Prize Founders Committee, the ceremony took place at the University of Toronto's historic Hart House Theatre emceed by renowned actors Martha Henry and Juan Chioran, with special guest speaker, Dr. James Orbinski.
